He has Traveled to Tear to join up with Logain and Rand. He watches Rand’s meeting with the Daughter of the Nine Moons from a distance and Travels in as back up when it is revealed that the Daughter of the Nine Moons is actually Semirhage.
Kwamesa is an Aes Sedai of the Gray Ajah. Kwamesa is a dark and slender with a sharp nose. She is of average height. She is strong in the One Power for an Aes Sedai – equalling Sheriam, Kiruna Nachiman and Reanne Corly. Not many women possess such strength. She has the habit of peering down her nose at everyone possibly because of her high strength in the One Power. She is the youngest of the Salidar Sitters, and has been an Aes Sedai less than thirty-five years. She has allied herself with the Salidar Aes Sedai and has been elected as a Sitter in the Salidar Hall. Because she is the youngest Sitter, she intones the ritual phrase Are there any present save women? in the call to vote for a new Amyrlin followed by her stripping to the waist. This tradition dates to the end of the Breaking of the World. In a similar vein, it is also her duty as youngest Sitter to make the formal call to seal the Hall away in a closed sitting. The wording of this appears in the header quote on this page. She is second woman to cast her vote for Egwene al’Vere becoming Amyrlin in the initial round of voting, taking little time to make up her mind. She votes yes on the Rebel Aes Sedai declaring war on Elaida do Avriny a’Roihan as well as yes for an agreement with the Black Tower. Sh puts herself forward as a candidate to negotiate a treaty with the Black Tower, highlighting the importance of the Gray Ajah in such an undertaking. At Lelaine Akashi’s emergency meeting of the Hall, she stands to accept the offer from the Dragon Reborn of bonding forty-seven Asha’man. Also see the article on Voting history.
She reswears the Three Oaths on the Oath Rod and proves that she is not Black Ajah. She is then part of the unanimous vote to attack the White Tower with their army.

She is attending Elaida do Avriny a’Roihan when the Seanchan attack. A Seanchan attack blows up part of Elaida’s quarters and Elaida is captured in the raid. Mair reports this information to Saerin Asnobar.
Alanna Mosvani is an Aes Sedai of the Green Ajah. She is slim and beautiful with long black hair and penetrating dark blue eyes. She is often described as wearing a gray riding dress slashed with green. Alanna appeared in New Spring. She was an Accepted with Sheriam Bayanar, Moiraine Damodred and Siuan Sanche. She was a novice for six years before being raised to Accepted. Alanna was involved in taking the census of all women who have recently given birth. She is quite shy but has a fiery temper. Alanna is first encountered during The Great Hunt, where she is a part of Siuan Sanche’s entourage to Fal Dara. When Egwene and Nynaeve are taken back to the White Tower to become Aes Sedai, she gives them several lessons in channelling, although she is unable to break through Nynaeve’s block. She also seems to be very interested in Rand and asks the two girls a lot of questions about him.
Alanna is present during Egwene’s test for becoming an Accepted, along with Sheriam Bayanar, Siuan Sanche and Elaida do Avriny a’Roihan. She noticed a strange resonance in the rings during Egwene’s test and appears to blame herself for not stopping the test and risking danger to Egwene. She asks Siuan for a penance as a result of this. Alanna was also one of the Aes Sedai who were responsible for Healing Matrim Cauthon from the taint of the Shadar Logoth dagger. Later she is in the Two Rivers searching for more girls who could become Novices for the White Tower when she is forced to hide from Children of the Light. She joins with Perrin Aybara and the rest of the village in fighting the Shadowspawn army. She wanted to bond Perrin, but was warned off by Faile Bashere, who threatened to kill her if she did so.
In addition to her one Warder Ihvon (her other Warder Owein was killed in the Two Rivers), Alanna has also forcefully Bonded Rand al’Thor as a Warder when she met him at the Culain’s Hound Inn in Caemlyn. She had just arrived in Andor with the huge group of Novices she and Verin gathered from the Two Rivers. Her bond to him, however, cannot be used to compel him to her will, as normal for most Warder bonds. She joins up with the Aes Sedai from Salidar while still in Caemlyn. She meets up with Perrin’s force of Two Rivers archers, Mayeners, Cairhienin, Aiel and Wise Ones and points them in the direction of where Rand is being taken by the White Tower Aes Sedai. All the while she can feel his pain while he is being beaten and is very concerned for him. She is in the Battle of Dumai’s Wells. Afterwards she is forced to swear fealty to Rand and is the only Aes Sedai to be near him and Heal him from his extensive wounds. She is part of Rand’s embassy when he meets with the Sea Folk and makes the Bargain. Cadsuane asks Alanna to keep her updated on anything she may feel through the bond to keep tabs on him.
Rand has also been bonded by Elayne Trakand, Min Farshaw and Aviendha of the Taardad Aiel. This had an adverse and unexpected effect on Alanna, who fainted when the bonding took place. The faint lasted for a total of three days. Alanna was furious when she heard about the new bond, although Rand refused to tell her whom he had bonded with.
Negotiations with the High Lords
She uses her bond with Rand to track him down in Far Madding. She also brings Cadsuane, Verin and a number of other Aes Sedai along as well. After meeting with Rand, she finally convinces him that he needs Aes Sedai behind him. He sends her back to Cairhien to gather Rafela Cindal, Merana Ambrey, Bera Harkin and Kiruna Nachiman and then to approach the rebels in Haddon Mirk to negotiate with them. She is present when Rand Travels to the Stone of Tear to meet with Darlin Sisnera. She seems genuinely pleased to be around Rand again. She greets Rand with King Darlin when Rand withdraws his forces from Arad Doman back into Tear. She mysteriously disappears from the Stone of Tear without using saidar, possibly by using inverted weaves and masking her ability. An open red waxed envelope, assumed to be from Verin, is found on her writing desk.
Kiruna Nachiman is an Aes Sedai of the Green Ajah. Kiruna has dark eyes and is statuesque. She is the sister of the King of Arafel, Paitar Nachiman. She has four Warders. Kiruna is supposedly very powerful in the One Power, belonging to the upper tier in strength amongst modern Aes Sedai. This is confirmed when Merana Ambrey realizes her embassy from the Salidar Aes Sedai to Caemlyn are deferring to Kiruna because she is stronger than Merana. The fact that Merana, who is about equal in the One Power to Verin Mathwin, is noticeably weaker than Kiruna in the indicates that she is quite a strong channeler.
Kiruna sided with the Rebel Aes Sedai in the White Tower Schism. Kiruna and Bera Harkin were sent by the Salidar Aes Sedai to make contact with Rand at the Aiel Waste. En route, they discovered that Rand was in Caemlyn and traveled there instead, joining up with the Salidar Aes Sedai embassy already there. She took over leadership from Merana Ambrey and dissolved the Salidar delegation, going with Bera to see if they could catch up with Rand in Cairhien. Kiruna was one of the Aes Sedai who assisted in rescuing Rand at Dumai’s Wells, and was forced to swear fealty to him after the battle. Kiruna was made an apprentice to the Wise Ones in Cairhien. Cadsuane Melaidhrin arrived in Cairhien and found Bera and drilled her on all the events that had occured recently. She put Shalon din Togara Morning Tide to the question as to why she was found bound with Ailil Riatin.
Menuki Nachiman is wife to King Paitar Nachiman. She is very loyal to him.
Paitar Nachiman: Paitar Neramovni Nachiman is king of Arafel. Paitar is totally loyal to his wife Menuki. He is brother to Kiruna Nachiman. He was good looking when he was younger but now has a creased face and graying hair. He is tall and strong. He meets with the other Borderland Rulers and makes a blood pact with them before setting out and leaving the Borderlands to look for Rand al’Thor. The army travels to Braem Wood in Andor where it camps down for the winter. He, with the rest of the rulers meet with Elayne Trakand. They agree with her to carry on moving south towards Murandy in exchange for her to not raise a hostile hand against them as they travel.
Jahar Narishma is an Asha’man from Arafel. He was trained at the Black Tower and promoted to the rank of Asha’man by Rand al’Thor. He is bonded to Merise Haindehl as a Warder. Rand says that he, along with Eben Hopwil and Damer Flinn are the only Asha’man he can trust. Often described as a “pretty youth”, Jahar is very young with dark eyes and long dark braids with bells on them.
Dumai’s Wells and the Seanchan
Narishma is one of the Asha’man who were part of Rand’s rescue attempt in the Battle of Dumai’s Wells. In the aftermath of the battle he is one of four Soldiers chosen to accompany Rand. He stands guard over Rand when he is meeting with some of the Aiel Clan Chiefs and when Cadsuane Melaidhrin arrives and insults Rand. He is one of Rand’s bodyguards when he meets with the Sea Folk and makes the Bargain. He Travels to Illian with Rand in order to confuse Sammael and try to bring him back to the city of Illian so Rand can finally defeat him. He is with Rand when Rand meets with the rebels loyal to Lord Brend. Rand promotes him to Dedicated. Rand then sends him to Tear to retrieve Callandor from the Stone of Tear. He retrieved Callandor from the Stone for Rand, so he has some further purpose in the series, according to the Prophecies of the Dragon. The alternative is that Jahar shall follow Rand loyally. “Into the heart he thrusts his sword, into the heart, to hold their hearts. Who draws it out shall follow after. What hand can grasp that fearful blade?” He is angry at Rand for forgetting to tell him about some of the inverted weaves he left behind, which Rand denies. He then rides with Rand when Rand’s forces attack the invading Seanchan just outside Illian. On arrival back to Cairhien, Rand charges Narishma to guard Min Farshaw when he goes to his meeting with Cadsuane Melaidhrin. When the rogue Asha’man attack Rand’s quarters, Rand nearly fries Narishma on purpose due to his lack of trust of the Asha’man.
Cleansing of saidin
Jahar Travels with Cadsuane and Merise to Far Madding to track down Rand. While there he is sent to the outskirts of the city limit and to Channel. He then goes with Cadsuane to meet with the Counsels of Far Madding when they have Rand prisoner. He pretends to channel saidin in order to break Aleis Barsalla and set Rand free.
Linked to Merise and wielding Callandor, he participated in the Battle near Shadar Logoth.
He accompanies Rand and Merise to Algarin Pendaloan’s house in Tear, where Rand recovers after cleansing Saidin. He practices sword play in the courtyard with the other Warders. He keeps challenging Lan Mandragoran in a duel and continues to be defeated by him. Narishma was promoted to full Asha’man after the Cleansing, though Merise refuses to allow him to wear the Dragon pin for reasons of her own.
Rand sends Narishma and Merise – along with her two other warders, Bassane and Nethan – to the Salidar Aes Sedai camp. Once there, he speaks before the Hall and informs them that they may bond 47 Asha’man in order to match the number of Aes Sedai bonded by Asha’man at the Black Tower. While there he detects someone channeling saidin and warns them of one of the female Forsaken who can channel saidin. He is one of the six to accompany Rand to his meeting with the Daughter of the Nine Moons. A fight soon breaks out when the Daughter of the Nine Moons is actually to be revealed Semirhage in disguise. He is Healed by Merise after the fight.
He accompanies Rand to Lord Tellaen’s manor in Arad Doman. He is present while Merise interrogates Semirhage. Rand then uses him to transport Rodel Ituralde and his troops to the Blight near Saldaea. He escorts Merise to Rand’s room after Semirhage’s escape. Rand teaches him how to use Balefire to destroy the Forsaken. Narishma then transports Dobraine and his men to Tear. He goes with Rand to Falme, where he meets with the real Daughter of the Nine Moons, Tuon Athaem Kore Paendrag. He rides with Rand when Rand goes to meet the Borderlander rulers inside Far Madding.
On return to Tear, Rand sends Narishma back to the Borderlander army to say that Rand accepts their terms and that he wishes to meet with them.

She joined forces with Perrin Aybara at the Battle of Dumai’s Wells to rescue Rand. She was forced to swear loyalty to Rand after the battle.
She was sent, along with Seonid Traighan, with Perrin to Ghealdan. At this time she was still an apprentice to the Aiel Wise Ones and treated very much as one. She goes with Perrin to his meeting with Masema in Abila.
Later she is seen meeting with Masema by herself after Faile Bashere is kidnapped by the Shaido. While in Perrin’s camp, she uses her unique skills on a set of Darkhound tracks found. She reports that a large pack of Darkhounds were just outside the camp and that they are a pack she has never come across before. She goes with Perrin to So Habor, where they collect grain for their troops. She accompanies him back to camp and witnesses him cleave a Shaido prisoners hand off, when he is looking for answers on his missing wife.

She begins to practice Linking with Fager Neald and successfully creates a gateway.
Mahira Svetanya was the first Queen of Arafel and the founder of that nation. Svetanya was the Imperial Governor for the Province of Arafel during the latter part of the reign of Artur Hawkwing, the High King. Upon his death in FY 994, Svetanya and the other Borderland Province rulers met to discuss what they should do as the rest of the Empire began to disintegrate in the War of the Hundred Years. The five provinces became independent nation-states, allied together against both the threat of the Blight to the north and also from attack by the southern kingdoms. They were able to subsequently ride out the chaos of the wars with minimal violence.
Samitsu Tamagowa is an Aes Sedai of the Yellow Ajah. She is a pretty Arafellin, with bells in her dark, braided hair and hazel eyes. She has a single Warder, Roshan. According to Cadsuane, she is the best Healer that the Tower has seen for centuries, perhaps ever. She has the ability to modulate the strength of the Healing weave (which very few people can do) and has the same ability with Healing as a full circle. This makes her one of the most skilled channelers in the series.
She is with Cadsuane Melaidhrin in the Cairhienin rebel camp just outside Cairhien when a Bubble of evil erupts. She manages to stabilize Rand al’Thor after he is stabbed by Padan Fain with the Shadar Logoth dagger. Subsequently, after witnessing Damer Flinn’s healing on Rand’s wound, she offered him gold, and even to bear his child in exchange for an explanation on how his healing was accomplished. She is left in charge by Cadsuane in Cairhien after she leaves for Far Madding. Unfortunately Sashalle Anderly doesn’t submit to her authority due to her standing higher in the One Power and has begun to take command. She is called to Heal Dobraine Taborwin after he is nearly killed by robbers going through his room. Her confidence in healing was somewhat shaken after witnessing Damer Flinn’s healing. She then Travels to Tear to find Rand and Cadsuane and report all news that has occured in Cairhien. Cadsuane sends her back to Cairhien, to keep an eye out for every activity Sashalle and the other Sisters there carry out.
Berisha Terakuni is an Aes Sedai of the Gray Ajah. She has hard eyes. She is lean and the same height as Egwene. She is from Arafel. She has a reputation for the strictest, and often harshest, interpretation of the law. She adheres to the letter of the law, with no sense of mercy.
Berisha was one of the Aes Sedai involved in capturing Egwene at Southharbor and bringing her to the White Tower, along with Barasine, Felaana Bevaine, Merym and Jala Bandevin.
She says that Egwene’s judgement will require the use of a High Court, with the Hall sitting to deliberate on the verdict. Katerine suggests that she might be called to be the Chair of Pardon, which Berisha certainly doesn’t relish, especially since the Chair sometimes shares the same fate as her defendant.
She chastises Katerine Alruddin for scaring Nicola Treehill by saying that novices should be guided and not bludgeoned.
Katerine and Barasine make implied threats towards Berisha and Berisha leaves Egwene in their custody. Egwene thinks that no woman who gives into fear so easily could ever have obtained the shawl and thinks that something must be very wrong.
